At this point, I think I’m just asking for trouble. Is there therapy for bloggers and readers who over-commit to challenges? Because I think I’m in serious danger of overdoing it. So the newest challenge I’m signing up for is the Chunkster Challenge. Now, this would be a really hard one to add on to the other challenges- except that I’m already planning on reading NINE insanely long books this year for the 999 challenge (I’m looking at you, Dumas. And Tolstoy. And Hugo. And… never mind, you get the picture). With all that in mind, I’ve looked over the different options for the challenge, and I’ve picked which option I am going to go with: I am going with Plan #3, Mor-book-ly Obese.
*Mor-book-ly Obese – This is for the truly out of control chunkster. For this level of challenge you must commit to 6 or more chunksters OR three tomes of 750 pages or more. You know you want to…..go on and give in to your cravings.
I have several books tentatively planned for this challenge:
- War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
- The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
- Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray
- The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
- Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell
- Dance to the Music of Time by Anthony Powell
I will, of course, finalize this list as I actually complete books during the course of the year. And I will provide links to reviews as I complete books as well! But I think I’m going to stick with a goal of nine books.
