I was right: going outside to read for a few hours was quite refreshing. However, the patio furniture, for all its quality, is still only comfortable for so long, and so now I’m back in the house for awhile. I probably won’t be venturing back outside for the remainder of the challenge.

We’re now at the halfway point of the challenge, and I’m not too far off my targets for where I wanted to be. I’m actually ahead on my page count. I’m  a little behind on the overall amount of time spent reading, and I still need to finish a second book to be on target for that goal.

To that end, I’ve got just under 150 pages left in The Book Thief. I’d wanted to finish during the time I was outside, but that was a touch ambitious of me, so I didn’t quite make it. But I did have my two most productive hours yet while I was outside.

On that note, it’s time to get back to the productivity. I’ve got some reading to do. And once I finish The Book Thief, which I should do in this next two-hour block, I’m going to move on to something much shorter: Sweethearts by Sara Zarr. That in itself should take less than two hours to read. I may surpass my goal of four books yet.
