Okay, so apparently I’m not to the point yet where I’m ready to jump back into blogging on a regular basis. There are a few reasons for this, the first and most important being that I am enrolled in a class to get my paralegal certificate. My end date is July 15, and I have a LOT of work to do between now and then. There are other factors as well, including my inability to concentrate on *anything* for a sustained amount of time (though I am trying to fix that as well).

I’ve gone back and forth, trying to decide whether I want to continue blogging and how to try to work it in to my altered life. I’ve tried to schedule time to post, but it didn’t work out. I do want to continue blogging, because I really enjoy it. I love being a part of such an amazing community, and I’ve been introduced to so many great books that I would have missed out on otherwise. And I know I’m not the only busy book blogger. Every single blogger I follow has their own busy schedules and priorities that they have to juggle. So I will find a way to make this work.

I want to start plugging back in slowly. I honestly don’t think I will be posting multiple times a week before mid-July. But I can aim for once a week. I think maybe I’ll start by trying to get back into the Sunday Salon. I am also going to try to start checking in with Twitter more. It’s pretty much impossible to do while I am at work, and that’s okay. But I can check in while I’m at home a lot more often. I’ve been so out of touch, I actually didn’t realize BEA was last week until this weekend. I am also trying to rid myself of my addiction to Facebook games. I went years without using Facebook regularly, so I don’t know why I’ve developed this annoying addiction, but it’s a huge time suck. I’ve quit all but about five games, and I am planning on leaving two of those behind as well.

I am also trying to listen to more audiobooks. Since I can’t quite give up Farmville yet (yes, I know. I am ashamed.), I can listen to audiobooks and still not lose valuable reading time. I was listening to Little Bee while on Facebook earlier, and it actually worked out really well.

Lastly, I am also going to try to pay a lot more attention to authors coming to the Sacramento area. Abraham Verghese will be here in a few weeks because the Bee picked Cutting for Stone as it’s book club book, and I am planning on  going to see him (hopefully with a friend, but I will go by myself). I’m really excited because I know a lot of my favorite bloggers have read and loved Cutting for Stone, and have met and loved Dr. Verghese. I’m hoping to have finished the novel by then (I just started it), but I will go either way, because I know I would be disappointed if I missed him. Generally, I haven’t paid too much attention to authors coming to the area, and I want to pay better attention. Lisa See was here a few years ago, and I actually worked for the library that was co-hosting/sponsoring the event. But I missed it because I had to work and didn’t ask to be given time off to go over to the other branch to see her speak. And even now a few years later, I’m sorry for it.

So there’s my plan (for now). I’ve got my fingers crossed, hoping it works!
