Happy readathon everyone! I am off to a slightly late start today as I did that thing where I set my alarm, and it went off on time, but I put my head down for a minute and woke up again half an hour later. At any rate, I am here now and ready to get going. I should still be able to get 15 reading minutes out of the first hour.

I don’t participate in most of the mini challenges, but I always love to do the introductory survey. So without further ado, here is my opening survey.

Where are you reading from today?: I am reading from Roseville, CA.

3 facts about me …
1. This is my fifth consecutive readathon.
2. I am sort of working on setting up a mini-tradition of getting a pedicure during every readathon. I got one last time and have another scheduled for today.
3. I am hoping this readathon will fix part of what’s broken in my reading and blogging habits.

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
Um, 15, which I listed here last night.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
I have 15 books in my pile, and some of them are pretty short. But considering I usually average 3.5 to 4 books, I’d like to be able to read at least 5 or 6 of them. I also would like to read approximately 1000 pages. But my real goal here is not to fall asleep during the final hours. For once, I would like to be awake at the end.

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Just the usual. Take lots of breaks, including midday catnaps, and make sure to try reading in at least one unusual setting. You might be surprised at how much reading you get done.
